The Selectboard on Tuesday gave its approval to a group of residents who want to ask the village of Bellows Falls to take over the sewer line that runs through their neighborhood.

The Selectboard unanimously named Sheldon Beebe to replace Rick Cowan to the board at a special meeting Monday morning.

Residents will vote this week on the proposed purchase by the town of the post office building and land across from Town Hall in the center of town.

The town will be holding a public meeting Monday at 7 p.m. to go over proposed changes to the zoning ordinance which could open up land in North Westminster to a senior housing project.

Voters will get a chance to decide if the town should purchase the land and building that house the Westminster Post Office.

Frank Wilson, the longtime Putney resident who founded Basketville and helped build the small basket shop along Sacketts Brook into an international business, died Saturday of Alzheimer's disease.
