Eight tornadoes hit southeastern South Dakota Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Huge bolts of lighting lit up the sky for hours in Sioux Falls as weather warnings popped up all over the area.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS SAY THERE WERE NO IMMEDIATE REPORTS OF DAMAGE FROM THE SOUTH DAKOTA TWISTERS WEDNESDAY NIGHT, BUT ONE TORNADO IN NORTH DAKOTA'S STARK COUNTY DAMAGED BUILDINGS ON A FARMSTEAD.
Storms spawned two tornadoes in southwest North Dakota and as many as five in southeast South Dakota.
