A 22-year-old woman from Alexandria was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a tree fell on her while she was on an ATV five miles southwest of Aurora. Officials say high winds knocked the tree down around 4:20 p.m. on Thursday.

A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition on Friday night after he was ejected from the truck he was driving south of Aurora. 20-year-old Michael Nisula, from Gilbert, was traveling on Highway 100 about two miles south of Aurora, when he left the snow-covered roadway and struck a tree around 10:30 p.m. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says Nisula and his passenger, 22-year-old Scott Christensen of Biwabik, were both thrown from the car.
A 62-year-old Wrenshall man is counting his lucky stars tonight after surviving a crash that literally split his car in half. Joseph Harting was thrown from the car he was driving during a crash, and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
