Two years to the day Jeannie Culpin purchased the historic Wetmore Post Office building, she hosted a grand opening to celebrate the Wetmore-Hardscrabble Genealogical and Historical Society that now is open to the public by appointment.

CANON CITY, CO Sept. 10, 2009: Two lightning caused fires continue to burn in remote areas of Custer County on the San Carlos Ranger District in the San Isabel National Forest.

Several fires attributed to lightning were discovered in the past week in the San Isabel National Forest and San Carlos and Salida Ranger districts in Fremont and Custer counties.
