Rivals four-star prospect Michael Pittman, who is rated by Scout as the No. Oregon was the frontrunner as recently as a few weeks ago, but Pittman had a nagging feeling that he needed to see USC one more time. Turns out, that mid-June visit could turn out to be a game-changer as the Ducks and Trojans appear to be neck-and-neck heading into decision day. "What happened was, I don't know what made me want to go visit USC, but I needed something to reference Oregon off," he said. I've been to USC before, but they never showed me everything.

CLINTON, Iowa - Trevor Gretzky is known more for his iconic last name than his baseball career. But Trevor isn't looking to escape his famous father's shadow. "My dad let me do what I wanted to do. But while his father took the NHL by storm as a wunderkind, winning the first of nine MVPs at just 19, Trevor has yet to emerge as an elite prospect. Trevor signed a minor league contract for a $375,000 bonus, hit .274 in rookie ball in 2012 and .306 in 49 at-bats with the full-season Class A Kane County Cougars two years ago.

"Quite recently, 12 new vineyards have been approved just in this area," Supervisor Sheila Kuehl said. "I just can't believe that this is going to put a ban on all future vineyards as well as any sort of vineyard expansion, which is kind of distressing to our family," he said. Beyond the amount of water used by vineyards, Kuehl said the county also wants to look at their water runoff, which can contain chemicals from pesticides and fertilizers. The board is expected to revisit the issue during a public hearing on July 28.

You are here: Home > Banking & Finance > Current Article Mindbody, Appfolio IPOs might be start of South Coast tech boom By Henry Dubroff /   Friday, June 12th, 2015  / No Comments Print Email You might call it the Mindbody-Appfolio effect. The pair of $100 million-plus initial public stock offerings filed last month has caught the attention of dealmakers from the Bay Area to Los Angeles. Add to that the stunning, $1.4 billion sale of Lynda.com to Linkedin and you have the most buzz in the region since the dot.com era. The stakes are not small.

SAN DIEGO - Are you ready to water your beautiful lush lawn? Well, if you live in Southern California you'd better wait until a dark evening.  Otherwise you might run afoul of the drought shamers. With California mired in a devastating drought, those so-called shamers are fanning out across the area. They use hashtags such as #DroughtShaming. Some people say they have been wrongly shamed, and at least one shamer has had a hose turned on him. The shamers say they just want to teach people to conserve.

Rivals four-star prospect Michael Pittman, son of a former NFL running back with the same name, is rated by Scout as the No. 3 athlete in the country and was committed to the UCLA Bruins. Reading the tea leaves, it appears a commitment to the Ducks could be imminent for the four-star athlete. Given Pittman's clear relationship with Howard and the linebacker's feelings toward Oregon, it seems a commitment is looming. Pittman holds offers from Arizona State, Cal, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, USC, Washington and Washington State.

"There are still a lot of vets fighting things," said Garrett, 64, of Oxnard, including himself in that group. The new annex is designed to augment the crowded, small VA outpatient clinic, located in the same complex. "This is a short-term solution," she said of the mental health annex. "There's doctor turnover everywhere in America," said David Holt, associate director for ambulatory care for the VA's Los Angeles region. ------ -2015 Ventura County Star at www.vcstar.com Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC.
