Adam Schiff is demanding the U.S. National Park Service release a report, already delayed three times, on his proposal to create a Rim of the Valley National Recreation Area on wildlands stretching from the Santa Monica Mountains to the Angeles National Forest above Pasadena. Schiff, D-Burbank, said on Tuesday that he has not received any response from Jarvis or anyone at the NPS, and he seemed baffled by the delays. "We're hoping the study will include the parts neglected by the monument," Brick said.

Randolph Clifford Jackson was found in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 18 and arrested, said the Los Angeles Police Department. Jackson waived extradition and was escorted back to Southern California on Tuesday. After a felony warrant, with bail set at $840,000, was issued for Jackson's arrest, he fled the Southland. Agencies involved in Jackson's Washington arrest included the D.C. County Sheriff's Department, but when it was determined that the crimes occurred in Tujunga, the LAPD Sexually Exploited Child Unit took over the case.
