Upon their return from the East Coast after participating in the joint clergy conference, on Friday, October 9, the Feast of the Holy Translators will be celebrated locally with evening service to be held at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino. On Saturday, September 26, an Ecumenical gathering was held, followed by an Ecumenical prayer service. On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, H.E. Viken Hovsepian, brother of Haig Hovsepian, delivered remarks honoring his brother and highlighting the valuable century-old mission of Homenetmen-HASK.
The idea, according to organizer Steve Park, was to introduce local communities to Korean Americans, some of whom may stick closely to those from their own culture. But this year, when members of the Armenian community wanted to host their own individual event to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Park said Korean-American groups decided to create a new tradition.
