An injured hiker was airlifted from a trail in Tarzana on Monday afternoon, fire officials said. The hiker, a 25-year-old woman, was hoisted out of rugged terrain with a knee injury, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott. She was taken to a hospital in serious condition, Scott said, but she was conscious and responsive. The woman was found on a trail near 4023 Reseda Blvd., near the Braemar Country Club on the edge of the Santa Monica Mountains. No other details were immediately available.
That was the buzz among bowlers when Geoff didn't show for his Tuesday night league at AMF Woodlake Lanes in Woodland Hills. Geoff is one of the most passionate bowlers in the Los Angeles area and has been a fixture in the "Guys and Dolls" league for five years. He was treated for his symptoms at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Woodland Hills on Tuesday. "I think it's the only time I've missed my league in four years," said Geoff, who bowls on a team with Nicholas Kellikidis, Ed Petok and Noel Petok.

Sol y Luna could easily be an attraction in Downtown Disney. The fish is grilled, but the salad is made with jack and cotija cheese, so let's just say it's lighter than most. I like the pescado a la parrilla, which is a whole grilled trout, served with veggies cooked in garlic butter. The camarones a la diabla are properly spicy. These two baby girls, born early New Year's Day to Northridge families, were among the San Fernando Valley's first babies of 2015. Talya, weighing 6 pounds 5 ounces and whose name means "dew of heaven" in Arabic, was born at 2:33 a.m. Thursday. Shadi, whose name means happiness in Farsi, is the first girl born with the DeLarme name in the father's family in 75 years, he said. As for having her on Jan. 1, the couple had previously joked about the possibility of Shadi being the first baby of the year to be born at their hospital.
