On the occasion of the Armenian Genocide Centennial and the 40th anniversary of the start of the Lebanese Civil War, filmmaker and documentarian Ara Madzounian is releasing a book of original photographs that chronicles Bourj Hammoud, the Beirut suburb which became home for Armenian Genocide survivors. `I wanted to create a lasting legacy about this place,' says Madzounian. Many residents of the Armenian enclave of Bourj Hammoud were killed and injured; others were forced to leave their homes as they had during the Genocide.
The accident happened about 11 p.m. at Reseda Boulevard and Collins Street, said Det. The motorcycle driver was identified as Sergio Olaguez, 30, of Tarzana, said Ed Winter, assistant chief of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. The car was a woman from Oak Park in her 60s, he said. The woman, driving a 2005 Honda Accord, was turning left to head south on Reseda, Bustos said, and Olaguez was heading north at a rate of speed much faster than the posted limit. This was the second motorcycle fatality in the San Fernando Valley in three days.
TARZANA -- Two people were killed Monday after a crash involving a motorcycle in the San Fernando Valley. Police say a woman in her 60s driving a 2005 Honda Accord was taking a left turn onto southbound Reseda when a motorcyclist driving at a high rate of speed slammed into her driver's side door. The driver of the motorcycle -- a male in his early 30s -- as well as the driver of the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene. Sunday's incident was the second deadly motorcycle crash involving speed the past three days.
TARZANA >> The drivers of a car and a motorcycle were killed in a collision in Tarzana, a traffic officer said. The crash happened about 11 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Collins Street at Reseda Boulevard, Los Angeles police Officer O. Arriaga said. One female and one male were pronounced dead at the scene, Arriaga said. She did not know which victim was the driver of the car and which was the motorcyclist. Investigators closed the intersection while they examined the crash scene, according to a witness at the scene.

"What he did was calculated," said Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Brenda Lee. The next morning just before 8 a.m. on June 15, 2013, Michael Kane tracked her down at the West Hills home of a family friend. He was deep in debt.
