The two -- whose case was handled in Pasadena Juvenile Court -- were ordered to be placed home on probation after admitting a count of making criminal threats, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Prosecutors said the two talked last August about carrying out a shooting at South Pasadena High School.

PASADENA >> The City Council voted to oppose the 710 Freeway tunnel late Monday night, changing the city's 14-year commitment to seeing the freeway completed. Madison led the effort to oppose the tunnel, saying it would be detrimental to Pasadena, its neighborhoods and its people. Madison had the support of the West Pasadena Residents' Association, and 45 speakers from Pasadena, Alhambra, El Sereno and South Pasadena. One major obstacle was the 50-foot ventilation towers proposed for Colorado Boulevard, near the start of the Tournament of Roses.

Joe Lemon of Metro said buses were brought in to shuttle Gold Line passengers between the Southwest Museum and South Pasadena stations. He noted that the Gold Line is Metro's safest rail line, with only two fatalities since it opened in 2003, and were suicides. The train service for South Pasadena, will be limited to service from South Pasadena to Sierra Madre until further notice. Bus shuttles replaced the Gold Line service from South Pasadena to the Southwest Museum in Mount Washington. Check back with Patch for updates.

A controversial proposal to connect Interstate 710 from Long Beach to Pasadena by a 4-mile tunnel received support at the first public hearing since an environmental report was released. The long-discussed tunnel proposal to tunnel under Los Angeles, Alhambra, South Pasadena and Pasadena was the most popular option discussed Saturday at a meeting attended by about 150 people, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported . Neither agency has stated a preference. Other public hearings are scheduled later this week and in May.

Walking down the pedestrian path of the Wescom Credit Union, I witnessed three gardeners, one wielding a hose directly into the hole where a palm tree grew. That is an effective way to water. No broadcasting of water hither and yon. Laser-like water bursts into the roots of a tree that was brown. And some big users, such as Arcadia, Beverly Hills, Glendora, La Habra, Redlands, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena, are being asked to cut back 35 - < -

As these photos taken on Wednesday and last weekend show, signs offering drought friendly services and announcing closures throughout the dehydrated city signal changes ahead. The regulations would require new urinals sold in the state to process just 0.125 gallons per flush. Communities that have not made progress on conservation since voluntary restrictions went into place last year, including many where residents' use is not measured by water meters may be forced to conserve as much as 35 percent over the amount they used in 2013.

I would say it's definitely one of L.A.'s hidden gems, and if you're visiting one of the museums in Exposition Park, or even USC, visiting the Rose Garden is a must. Such a cute little park in a beautiful neighborhood... The park itself is cute for a picnic, has a jungle gym for children, a golf course, and a lawn bowling court. - Julia P Palisades Park - Santa Monica "Coming here is such a great refuge from the touristy hustle and bustle of Third Street Promenade as well as the fast pace of LA. You can go paddle boating and fishing.

SAN MARINO >> Responding to some residents' concerns about "mansionization," the City Council is poised to pass a moratorium on demolition permits and second-story additions. San Marino received more than 20 applications to raze and replace homes. Of course that amount doesn't seem too significant considering San Marino has about 4,400 housing units within its borders. "When the house ultimately shows up, there are people that come and say, - ėI'm horrified that that house was approved in San Marino,'" Schaefer said.

First off, I've fielded precisely two complaints since Robinson began using a Dodgers-esque blue script on her lawn signs and mailers, correspondents complaining that since the vice mayor isn't actually related to the great athlete and civil rights leader Jackie Robinson, who grew up on Pepper Street, that she is misleading voters. Anyone with such a fine moniker running for mayor of Pasadena would be nuts not to purloin the script, along with a Pasadena rose to boot, for the campaign literature.
