A water main break in La Crescenta slowed down traffic Tuesday morning, leaving one lane closed in each direction on Pennsylvania Avenue between Altura Avenue and the Foothill Freeway. Shortly after 8 a.m., the ruptured pipe caused water to flow out from the asphalt on Pennsylvania Avenue, said Crescenta Valley Water District General Manager Thomas Love. There were no interruptions in water service, he added. "We were able to isolate the leak and still maintain water service to all our customers," Love said.

A├žai berries are all the rage right now. A growing trend is to enjoy them in an a├žai bowl. Housed in a little bamboo-sided sidewalk stand outside a Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu facility in Burbank, A├žai Jungle Bowls is my favorite of the bunch. Carlos Gracie himself is credited with popularizing the bowls in his native Brazil. They say the berry is rich in omega-9 and omega-6 fatty acids that help prevent heart disease and lower cholesterol among other health benefits. I'd think children would love the healthy treat as well.

Below is my translation of Hurriyet's Turkish text of Pres. As to why this is so, I let everyone draw their own conclusions.' During a meeting with representatives of the Armenian-American community on May 7 in Washington, DC, I asked Pres. How Should Kurds Address Armenian Genocide? Armenia's economy would have to evolve over ten to fifteen years to take advantage of a free-trade regime with Europe. One of those organizations, the Armenian Assembly of America, welcomed Biden's and Power's presence at the Washington ceremony.

SUNLAND -- A mother is searching for answers after her daughter was last seen nearly one year ago and has expanded efforts to find her. Blum says the last time she saw Kimberly was on June 5th at her sister's house in La Crescenta getting ready for her niece's graduation party. Blum says they soon noticed Kimberly had left and security footage from the home showed her walking to her car. "I keep searching because as a mother there's always a part of you that you don't want to lose your child," she said.

Anyone eager to see Best Coast over the last few months would have done well to look somewhere small. A few weeks later, Best Coast traveled to Austin, Texas, for the annual South by Southwest festival, where the group knocked out nine cramped gigs in seven days. "I remember playing the Echo in 2009, just me and Bobb and a MiniDisc as our drummer," Cosentino recalled recently. It was the roof of the Capitol Records building in the heart of Hollywood. She's just herself, and so they see her and they're like, 'Yes! The palm trees!'" she said.

She'd attended her niece's eighth-grade graduation ceremony in the morning, and was supposed to help her sister Jennifer Franklin set up the graduation party planned for later that afternoon. Around 4 p.m., she arrived at Franklin's La Crescenta home, where her sister was picking up dog toys from the floor, commenting that her dog doesn't like them. Perhaps it was Franklin's tone that upset her sister, who left shortly after. "Just to know anything more than I know now I think would be helpful," Rosalie Blum said.

520 cats and dogs were adopted into new homes in just 48 hours. Mandy, a kitten from Best Friends Animal Society ┬- Los Angeles, found a home with Erica Gomez of Park La Brea. If you have love to give, adopting a dog or cat is the best.┬" Nikki Raber of La Crescenta adopted a puppy named Rolo from Angel City Pit Bulls. And the Best Friends Pet Adoption and Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills. Since its founding in 1984, Best Friends has helped reduce the number of animals killed in American shelters from 17 million per year to about 4 million.
