At least six schools in Interior-based school districts are in danger of closing next year because of low enrollment, according to superintendents at the Iditarod and Yukon Flats districts.
Threats of flooding have fallen along the bulk of the Yukon River, as spring weather and time have softened the prospect of more ice jams blocking the waterway.
